The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has revised its November 2026 grant payment schedule ahead of the 4 November local government elections.
Older persons' grants are payable from Friday 30 October, disability grants on Monday 2 November and child grants on Tuesday 3 November.
The new payment dates
- Older persons: from Friday 30 October.
- Disability grants: Monday 2 November.
- Child grants: Tuesday 3 November.
- Thursday 5 November: set aside for beneficiaries whose grants fall within the review process.
SASSA said the revised dates followed consultations with various stakeholders, and that National Treasury approved the schedule.
Beneficiaries under review
SASSA urged beneficiaries under review to respond to official communication and attend their review appointments, and cautioned them against rushing to SASSA offices unnecessarily. It told beneficiaries to use its official channels and guard against misinformation and disinformation.
SASSA said it "remains committed to ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their grants in an orderly and reliable manner".
